I truly think it's what you get used to using. When you blow up an image to 200 or 400%, even if it's in the slightly reduced full screen in Lightroom, you can only see a small portion of the total image. Why not set the Loupe at it's largest view, and set it for 200 or 400% view, detach it from the cursor and use the cursor to show an area of the image. Works just as well, but it's just different. Especially if you are used to the way Lightroom does it. And I would suggest that there are very few times you would need to go any higher than 200%
