Please tell me which LCD monitor to buy.

I trust your judgment and opinions implicitly!

For the past few days I've been searching all over this Forum(s) for details on LCD monitors. I currently have a KDS 17" and it is on its last pixel. Now I am shopping for a 22" or so LCD panel monitor. I already have a SpyderPRO calibration tool I hope to use with the new LCD. My main interest is Photoshop tweaking of my E3 images, et al, and Internet surfing. No gaming.

I am no pro, but want a good photo editing monitor in the sub $500 range. I am so confused right now. Half the models I think I want are not in production anymore (that's the problem with searching past posts here). Just want something that looks good. Samsung? NEC? 4:3? 16:9? Help?
