I see in another thread somebody using the RRS BH-40 ballhead with a tripod:

Also, on the RRS website they recommend using the Manfrotto 3232 Swivel Head and B2-Pro clamp.

Based upon this I am thinking of getting Bogen-Manfrotto 681B Professional Aluminum Monopod with either the MF swivel head or the RRS BH-40 ballhead.

If anybody can advise about which would be the best option it would be great.

If I get the RRS BH-40 ballhead then I would stave off the BH-55 for the tripod for now and use this as a multipurpose ball head for both. Is this a good idea?
