It seems the extreme III 200X 30M/s cards are not UDMA enabled.

I believe this statement is incorrect.

I sent a question to sandisk support as follows....

"Can you confirm if the new updated Extreme III 30 M/s CF cards are
now UDMA enabled???"

I recieved the following reply....

"Hello Mike,

Thank you for contacting SanDisk Technical Support. It is our goal to
make sure you have all the resources you need to get the most from
your product.

Extreme III CF memory cards only support PIO. While Extreme IV CF
memory cards do support UDMA and PIO.

If you should need any further assistance please let me know.

Sincerely,
Bryan W.
SanDisk Technical Support"

Apparently your tech support contact is either mistaken or reading from outdated material. New production Extreme III cards support UDMA. The card controller is a Sandisk design, shared across their product line.
