Help convince a Canonner
Apr 21, 2008

Yes, I have been a Canonnner for 35 years. I have to admit the D3 is very appealing. There remains, however, a problem with this DSLR, and that is sensor dust.

One way to prevent this most annoying problem is to never change lenses, thus transforming the DSLR into a fixed lens camera. Don't panic: Cartier-Bresson and Doisneau both often used a single fixed lens on their Leica. Instead of changing lens to adapt the camera to a situation, you move and adapt yourself to the situation. This won't apply to some types of photography such as macro or animal/bird photo, but for photojournalism in general, it may be a good practical approach. So: if you had to choose one Nikon lens or one Nikon zoom to stay permanently on your D3, which lens would you choose. Thank you.
