Here's quick photo of a blackbird taken with a D300, 300mm f2.8, ISO720, 1/125s, monopod. It's Vivid and AdobeRGB.

A bit noisy, not blistering sharp, and the dark areas are not well differentiated, but not bad, for ISO 720.

However, there seems to be a bit too much magenta in the picture:

In reality the branch is a yellowish green gray. Here's an NX-processed version with the branch turned gray with a bit of green and yellow tint added.

Quite a bit of fiddling to get a good result. Is there an easier way to get this this type of picture so that there is less fiddling to do?
