D60: Question about the Shooting Info Auto Off
Apr 13, 2008

A few days ago I noticed that the shot info screen flickers when I'm outside.

The screen is supposed to go black if you move the camera to your eye, and it also disappears if you just cover the eye sensor, but when I am outside, it will just go off and on all the time, even if I don't move the camera at all.

The monitor works properly in all the other settings (menu, playback, etc.), and also when the Info Auto is on "Off". Something isn't working right with those sensors. But then again, the flickering only happens outdoors. I tested that a few times. Indoors, screen is behaving properly, outdoors, it flickers (stays on for a second, off, back on, off, and so on, until the time for Info On elapsed.

I'm puzzled. Do you think this is something I should call Nikon about?
