The Olympus printed manuals tend to be very basic and you need to get the PDF version to really know all about the features and settings. The hard copies are more like Quickstart guides!

As for DIS, I read somewhere (a mag review) that it's really a bit of a con job because it mainly uses ISO manipulation. Before I had it, I thought it was some super feature but I find that it is not all that great. So I try my best to steady myself when using longer zoom ranges although recently, I found my old mini tripod which is proving a very useful accessory to carry around in the bag on casual outings.

BTW, I just saw the SP570 20X with manual focus advertised today... very tempted even though I got my SP550 less than a year ago.
