No Radio Control Flash?

Does anyone have a clue as to why Canon doesn't use radio waves to control the 580EX series flash in a master/slave setup? I know that having that would make many of our lives easier. Hey, if Quantum can do it...
And once they finally do they could make Monolights that are ETTL and really make location photography a lot easier.
Come on Canon, if you're in the flash business let's really make a full system. Maybe a licensing agreement with Pocket Wizard?
Or am I just crazy?
