Windows Picture and Fax Viewer

I use Windows Picture and Fax Viewer all the time for my basic viewing on JPEG's etc.
I can not view the D300 NEF's on it though - unless it's just thumbnail size.
Do you know of any updates to this?
I tried Nikon and didn't find anything.
