Can Aperture replace Capture NX for D300 RAW processing?
Mar 17, 2008

NOw that Aperture 2.0 has been out for a while, I'm very interested in hearing from D300 users out there shooting RAW and using Aperture for processing.

Can you get as good quality images with Ap as with Capture NX? If you can, is it a complex procedure or can you save standard edits and apply to batches?

Like lots of people, I like NX for its application of camera settings and its step-wise editing and memory of edits in NEFs, and I dislike it for what it does to my workflow. I would love to go fully Aperture but I worry deeply about the many earlier warnings about image quality when decoding NEFs from the D300 in Aperture.

Any opinions greatly appreciated. Many thanks / Matt
