Wife going to Italy..looking for right PS for her

The wife will be traveling to Italy in October with her church group and I would like to get her a new digital camera for the trip. The thing is she is not much into gadgets and options. She would like to have a camera that is very easy to use. It's important that she be able to charge the battery over there and that it takes good photos...both indoors and out. Also, I think weight and portablity are important as well. Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions on the right camera..thanks!
