New Intel processor for CS3

Would a dual core E8400 or Q6600 be better for programs like CS3, Nikon Capture NX and Videostudio (video editing)? How much difference would the two other cores make? I like the advantages of the E8400 running cooler and using less energy. Like the two extra cores in the Q6600. Would there be a noticeable difference between the two chips.
