Medium or Large Softbox for narrow area

I've got an area in my basement that is about 11' or so wide and 30' feet long. I'd like to set up a home studio to take portrait or photos of very small groups. Anyway, I'm wondering if a large softbox would be too large for that area, or if a medium would be enough. I'll also be using a fill...either foamcore or something else. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
