85mm AF and 50mm AF on D40

Hello,

I am about to buy a Nikon D40, but i read that it doesnt support AF-S lenses. I have two prime lenses bought 2-3 years ago. I am unable to say if they are AF-s lenses and would work on the D40. It is the 85mm f/1.8 and the 50mm f/1.8
