Looking for a small Travel Tripod for a G9

Priorities are:

1) Small
2) Able to use camera in portrait or landscape mode.

Nice to have:

3) Quick release plate.

I am looking at the Ultrapod II, but I am not sure if I can put the G9 in Portrait orientation on it.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
