Sensor Issue on XTi?

I was wondering if someone could help me out. Why would two pictures taken one right after the other in a burst with the same focal length, ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed have two very different exposures? One looks GREAT, and the next one looks blown out. How can that happen?
