24" LCD - Samsung 245T vs Viewsonic VX2435WM vs

Looking for a new primary editing monitor as my 22" P1210 is barely alive. Output is almost all digital and I do very little print output. The monitor will be in a dual confif w the 15.4" WXGA+ screen in the T61 laptop (plugged into a docking station) driven with DVI-D out from a NVidia Quatro 140M.

$670 Viewsonic 245T - S-PVA 1:1000 300cd and wide gamut
$550 Viewsonic VX2435WM - P-MVA 1:1000 500cd

I am planning on purchasing a calibration tool.

Am I going to see $120 worth of goodness off of that wide gamut?

Is there another monitor in that $400-$700 price range I should consider? BenQ FP241VW( W/WZ)?
