Hi Kabe

This is what I intentionally did to try and focus on the colourful water. The boat had some color in it but I felt it looked better de-saturated.

What's more, I don't think the effect increases the visual impact of
the image at all. To the contrary, I tend to regard the image in a
cursory fashion because the manipulation is so apparent and
apparently poorly considered.

My $0.02.

I thank you for your comments and opinion which I have taken on board (no pun intended) and would only add that the picture was never intended to have "journalistic punch". Unfortunately all craft like this tend to discharge pollutants and whilst I am concerned about that, I was simply trying to create a colourful picture.
