They are descendants of EEPROMS which only lasted a few times 40 years ago. Then they said they lasted a couple of thousand times and now they want us to pay $1K for a little box full of them called a solid state disk drive. I was always luke warm on all of it. I have a Corsair Flash Voyager which was cheap and it's working. I bought a second one to stick in a USB hole on my desktop so Vista can run with "Readyboost" which is supposed to speed it up. Earlier this year I bought another brand (can't remember what) from Walmart that didn't work at all.
