Cris Camera service?

I posted earlier about dust on my GX-100 sensor. I contacted Cris Camera about this issue and got a form response:
-- Not covered under warranty (although many here seem to have had dust removed under warranty) even though my camera is only 5 months old;
-- No estimated cost unless I send the camera in. Expect 4 to 6 weeks to repair it.
If this is typical service response in the U.S., my love affair with the Ricoh is now over. A nearly new camera with dust on the sensor, and I have no idea how much it will cost to repair.
