Canon EF-S 55-250 IS vaporware ??

Is this lens available anywhere? Any news on a release date -- I thought it was supposed to be out Nov 28. Can't even find a premature listing on Amazon or any of the Hong Kong shops advertising it on eBay. All I can find is the page on Canon Europe site and the reference to it earlier here on DPreview
