Off Camera Shoe Cord for Sony

After all this time, why isn't Sony or a 3rd party making an off camera shoe cord for Sony ? Since they make external flashes and trying to get market share from Canon & Nikon , they need to make the proper accesseries as well. I can't use Sony cameras with my flash brackets without an off camera shoe cord and thus I don't buy nor recommend Sony cameras , no matter how good the R1 is or the a700 , without an off camera cord , they are useless to me . Sony, HELP !
