D300 Astrophotography?

D300 Astrophotography?

Any comments on how the D300 will be for astrophotography? I'm thinking that with the high ISO quality & live view it should be great-but would like your input.

I'm having classic "aproach/avoidance" there is a D300 with my name on it in a photo shop but.....wonder if just upgrading to a D80 would suffice. The astrophoto might just give me the push I need.
