I ask this because when I do my PS with the eye dropper, I could pick
several spots on the card and end up with a variation of WB..

I've noticed this on PS and it bugs the snot out of me. I recall
there being a sample size adjustment (2x2, 4x4, 8x8 or something)
that I haven't bothered to go hunting for. This may help out??

I'm in the studio tonight working a new RingFlash and model and will be trying out the grey card (held square on to the camera, held next to model) and also setting a custom white balance with a white card and see what that does.

The previous studio I worked out of had a sickly green reflective paint on the walls and ceiling that would impart a weird hue on some areas of a photo but the new one is all white so this should really make a nice difference.,

I'll let you know how it goes.
