I came across a newspaper photographer shooting a regional girls volley ball tournament in a medium-sized Arizona town today. He had an older 80-20mm on a D200, with two SB-800s (at full power) in the mezzinne triggered with radio triggers. He said that he wants a D3 "so badly," as it will change the way he shoots sports.
I think that there is probably a LOT of that thinking going on!
