Hawaii and 40D suggestions
Oct 19, 2007

My trip is just a few weeks away. Had a change in plans and not taking the 5D (to make a long story short I didn't want to risk loss or damage with my portrait business camera as I have a wedding to do a week after I get back). So I will be taking the 40D. I would like to travel as light as I can. I have the following lens collection:
Canon 24-70L 2.8 (just replaced and is due Monday delivery)
Canon 70-200L IS 2.8
Canon 100-400L IS 4.5
Canon 50 1.4
Canon 50 1.8 II (cheap but nice)
Canon 17-40L f.4
Canon 28-135 IS kit lens
Canon Extender EF 1.4II
Tamron 19-35 3.5

Have plenty of camera cards, batteries, chargers, bags. Thinking of not taking the tripod-not 100% sure yet).

I would like to take it all. But the weight would just be to much. I plan on landscapes, surf competition and general walk around tourist type shots. So first thought is the 24-70, 50 1.8, 100-400.

What would be your lens choices be and why.

I have 4 days on Kauai, 8 on Hawaii and 3 days undecided as of yet. Suggestions for locations to see and stay are also welcome.
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
