White Balance with PCT-100
Apr 10, 2002

My (and most, I believe) Vivitar strobe is daylight balanced -
or so I thought. With my film cameras, I always used daylight
film with it, and everything was fine.

The PCT-100 instructions state that a custom balance is
necessary when using strobes. Sure enough, without a
custom balance, the strobe puts a blue cast on everything.
Anybody know what the deal is? Does the Dimage see daylight
as one color if it comes from the sun and another color if it comes
from a strobe?

And what's to be done about fill-in flash outdoors with a
PCT-100 attached strobe? Blue shadows?
