d2x vs d300, what's the difference to you?

I've seen a lot of comments about the d300 not being much of an upgrade to the d200. I can also remember of lot of comments from d200 buyers that wished they could afford the d2x.

So, what's the difference now? The d300 has better specs than the d2x, so I'd like to know why you folks thought the d2x was so great, but the d300 is a yawner.
