Image sizes on 40D vs. 10D (field of view)

Hey all.. long time lurker, first time poster.

I got my new 40D (thrilled) and started taking test shots vs. my old 10D. Of course, there's no comparison, the quality is awesome. Quite frankly though, I like the sound of the 10D shutter much better. Oh well, that's not what I'm here for.

I've been testing with my 50mm f1.8 lens and noticed that (everything else being the same) the field of view in the image is wider on the 10D vs. the 40D. In other words, more of the scene was captured with the 10D using the same lens at the same distance.

Has anyone tested this with the 30D? I'm wondering if the 10D is capturing more than 50mm (x1.6) or if the 40D is capturing less.
