Design flaw of RS-80N3 remote shutter release???
Sep 11, 2007

I use canon RS-80N3 on my 20D. I notice that after I plug the RS-80N3 into the camera body, the cord comes out of the connector is toward the camera back, rather than toward the ground. This design makes the cord hang on the connector, which I assume it is easier to break the wire at the connection point.

The reason I ask this is because sometimes when I hike I am too lazy to take the RS-80N3 off my camera. So I just leave it there swing.

The connector has some metal on it. Does anybody know if the connector can be rotated and changed in direction?

Thanks.
