H2: a different kind of noise....

I just noticed something strange with my H2. The camera makes noise (audio noise) all the time. When it is on (even in picture review mode), there is a very quiet noise coming from it. Nowhere as loud as the zoom noise, but comparable to the focus noise. My camera camera recently from repair, so I'm wondering if it is something new, or I just hadn't noticed...
I checked the settings:
AF mode is single, steady shot is "shooting"
Is there a gyro in the camera? What makes the noise?
Anyone else noticed this?
