ARW = RAW right?

Hello,

My Alpha just arrived. Going to take it for a test spin in Stockholm in just a few minutes.

Did take a few test shots in my living room. Both ARW and JPG were stored on the memory card.

I have heard that photo shop supports RAW, but I can't get the ARW file to open. I have PS version 6.

Anyone who knows if I should be able to open them in PS?

Ps: I bought my camera used (from B&H) and I didn't get any software or manuals.
