true, the e-330 is more sophisticated, and can be had now with 2 lens kits for under $600 if you do some looking. that price is hard to beat, and the oly kit lenses are decent---in fact the 14-45 is better than decent.

so my vote goes to the e-330 as a better value in this case and a better camera to grow into. you won't be a newbie forever. you'll also find the people over on the oly forums very helpful. furthermore, the e-510 which oly has just released, by all appearances is a quite fine camera with image stabilization, and in a year or two should be selling at bargain prices similar to the e-330 now----so just in time for you to be wanting your next camera body ;-} and you'll already have oly lenses....
