Sensor twisted?

This is going to sound stupid, which is why I've waited and lived with this for a few months, but it seems that every time I take a picture of something where geometry is important (like bottles standing straight) I end up having to rotate the images one degree to the left so that they look like they are straight.

I've tried shooting horizontal this and vertical that, and I just can't make my mind up on what is going on.

Does anyone know a good scientific way I can prove solidly whether it is the camera or operator error please? Something simple 'cause I don't have complex tools ... I think I've got an old wooden spirit level somewhere, but I'd have to dig for it.

'No Comment.' It's my quote; so popular that many use it.
