1dMKIII X-sync 1/60th for Studio Strobes?
Jun 25, 2007

Hi,

I was looking at the MKIII specs on Canon's US site and noticed the X-sync is listed as follows:

X-sync at 1/300 sec. (with EOS Speedlites; 1/250 maximum with other shoe-mount flashes, and up to 1/60th or faster with studio strobes)

Why is it listed at 1/60th or faster for studio stobes? Shouldn't it be the same as shoe mounted flashes? 1/60 seems like a step back from all other cameras.

TIA

  • Daniel
