I have used same GPS receiver model as the OP (Globalsat BR-355) I
have made some rather simple modifications of the original solution:

  • I have inserted connector between the MC - 35 board and the GPS

unit to be able to use it attached to my PC. Now when looking back
I would not do it again, I think I will never connect it to a PC
anyway

  • I have used a bigger box with flanges for attachment to my camera

strap from this site: http://www.hammondmfg.com/dwg9FL.htm ; ( I
think I have used the 60mm x 35mm x 20mm)

  • I have added on - off - on style slide switch. ( always on - off

  • on when camera on)

I have also tested it with my Nikon style release and it works
great, thanks again to the original poster for a briliant idea. The
total cost was $160.

I like the mods that you did. Do you see much in battery life when you have the GPS and the D200 both on?

Do you have any more pictures of you case mods?
