Does this hurt your eye? 70-300vr...

So I was playing around and testing the 70-300vr... and I am still amazed at how sharp this lens is, especially for the $ you pay. What do you think?
I was sharing this picture with a few folks and someone mentioned that it hurts their eyes. But they don't know why... they can't pinpoint why it hurts. Does it hurt your eyes?
