The on-line self-publishing revolution?
May 2, 2007

I have a question to any of you other there who are using some of the myriad of on-line self-publishing companies (Blurb, Lulu, etc.) to promote and sell your work. Are you making any money? Are you selling direct to your customers? Have you had any success selling to businesses?

I ask because I have run headlong into many barriers to entry in the b2b market. The costs for self-publishing remains too high to break into the local bookstores using the latest 4-color Print on Demand technology. Yes I had some success selling my photography/history book direct to clients, but anyone thinking that this new technology is going upend the current paradigm will be disappointed.

I am curious to hear anyone's thoughts on this issue. Is there anyone experiencing success in the b2b arena? I would love to hear your story.

I am posting in this forum as I follow the Blurb.com discussion thread.
