70-200mm f4L nonIS/IS

Hi guys,

I'm considering a medium range telephoto lens. I've heard good things about the 70-200mm f4L, both the IS and non-IS versions. I was wondering if owners of the 70-200mm f4L and 70-200mm f4L IS could post up some pictures they have taken with the lens. In particular, I would appreciate some wildlife-type shots (zoo, birds), and also some portrait shots (preferably at wide aperature so I can see what kind of bokeh these lenses can do).

Also any comments on the good/bad things about this lens, and if the IS version merits the large price increase over the non-IS would be nice to seee from owners/previous owners of both. Also, is adding a 1.4x teleconverter good enough for shooting birds? With my 1.6x crop body and 1.4x tele, the 70-200mm range is effectively 155mm-450mm.

I've basically thrown out the idea of a 70-300mm IS, since I heard the IQ wasn't as good as the 70-200mm L's.
