Am I on the right track?

Folks,

Went to a motor-racing event at the weekend: the British Superbikes. This was my first attempt at motorsport and my god they go fast ! I took around 700 photos and eventually ended up with 31 that are so, so and probably one or two that are good. So many had only bits of bikes in them.

I have D50, focus was on AF-C and when panning used a shutter-speed around 1/200 to 1/320 and for frozen shots around 1/1500. It was a very sunny day, so lots of shadows and at one point I fitted a neutral density filter so that I could get slow shutter speed and large aperture. Exposure was tricky as backlit in a lot of places. Mostly in JPEG (to minimise beffering time on SD card). Used Nikon 80-200 and had to crop a lot ! My god, lots to learn.

C&C welcome....but don't pan these please, ha ha !

Tips appreciated.

Cheers

Graham
