Here's the thing: some people like shooting with a grip. Other's don't. You probably won't know whether you like it or not until you've used one for a while. If you decide to get the grip, keep all of your packaging in case you need to sell it (they sell easily). No need to overthink such a simple and relatively unimportant thing.

Myself - I shoot probably 30,000 - 40,000 pictures a year in portrait orientation. I MUCH prefer shooting those with a grip. And I even use my left eye. Go figure. I've had an MB-D200 since they came out. Works great - no complaints.
