The S3 IS does not have a hot shoe.

Hiigh ISO performance (it goes to 800) is mediocre - I think the 550 is better from what I've seen of it so far, and it also has a lower minimum ISO (50 vs. 80) which is nice. That plus the ability to shoot raw and process later is a godsend for high ISO, especially since it goes up to 1600 at full resolution. My biggest complaints about the S3 have to do with image quality and lack of RAW mode.I think the camera tends to smear fine details, although not necessarily due to noise reduction; I think it may actually be just .jpg compression or baseline optical quality.
