3800 and Photoshop

I got my 3800 today and am trying to get it to print properly in PS. I started by downloading and installing a profile for the paper I was using. I got the profile to show up in the PS Printer Profile: box. What I am unable to do at this point is to access the part of the printer driver that allows me to select the proper paper. I tried a couple prints and the printer defautled to Photo Black setting when it should have been Matt. Prints looked bad. I made a couple prints from another aplication "Aperture" and was able to select the right paper, and they looked prety good. So what am I doing wrong in PS that I am unable to access the printer driver to change the paper type etc. I am new at this. Thanks for any help you can give. KT
