Optical finder on the smaller cams.. or even an EVF. I strongly dislike having to hold a camera "out" there to use the big LCD. On the 50 I use it when on tripod, or when shooting at waist-level.. love that tilt LCD, never lose it!

Lack of EVF / Optical finder is why I haven't bought any of the small Panas. I'd love an LX2 as a "carry around" camera for when the 50's too much -- but with only a non-tilt LCD, it'll be a cold day in hell before I buy.

In addition to the hotshoe mentioned by the OP, how about a PC socket on the FZxx? Not all lighting equipment uses hotshoe, and adaptors are, well, just adapters. They have a habit of going missing or just up and die when you most need that strobe to fire.
