Feel my pain

After nearly three years and 97,888 shots, it looks like my D70 needs a new shutter. I keep getting ERR in the viewfinder. The mirror is flipped up half-way. Sometimes it takes pictures and I hear the mirror double-clutch, and no image is recorded to the CF card.
Still debating the wisdom of sending it home to the mother ship...
