Using non-Nikon batteries does not void your warranty any more than using non-Nikon lenses.

I don't think anyone said that it voids the camera warranty. However, if you decide to use a non-Nikon battery, don't expect Nikon to pick up the tab if the battery they didn't produce or sell wrecks the camera if they can prove that it was the battery that caused the problem.

I have never heard of a 3rd party battery exploding in a camera, (I have
and experienced sh*t 3rd party batteries ... usually supplied ... by cr*p
Brooklyn vendors as an add-on to the original purchase ... I learned that
the hard way). Point being?

I think the fact that you do buisiness with "cr*p Brooklyn vendors" says a lot about the quality of your opinion here. Here's an article about a cell phone battery that ignited and sent a man to the hospital where he remains in critical condition....

"The trade group representing major cell phone makers tells NBC News that cases like this one are very rare, and can often be blamed on buying a battery not approved by the manufacturer."
