I cringe at the thought of Warranty service on my camera. This is why people are willing to pay 100$ for an big box extended warranty.
But don't feel too bad .... think about how the people servicing the cameras are probably treated. Probably close to minimum wage, minimum training, minimum benefits, maximum workload. Fixing these cameras under these conditions would be a daunting task and they probably have a preset formula that they follow with minimal after repair testing and if that doesn't fix the problem they probably send it back anyway to keep the amount of replacements to a predetermined level.
