high ISO versus Image Sabilization??
Jan 2, 2007

Hi there,

I am seriously hesitating between the Canon Powershot A710 IS (or S3 or G7), and the Fuji F30. I personally think the Canons will fit better in my hand, but am hesitating about image quality & fim quality (esp. for the 710 IS), and especially at low light conditions.

I think IS might enhance the quality of images in low light conditions as it allows you to take sharper pictures without flash, but this can also be achieved if you have a camera like the Fuji F30, in which you can snap fast movements in low light conditions by simply using a higher ISO (which seems to work really well in the Fuji) (is it true that noise at ISO 400 in the Powershots is as bad as the noise in the F30 at ISO 3200? or is it more like at 1600?).

What do you think is the most effective method? And (except for the lack of swivel LCD and optical viewfinder) does the Fuji have much less possibilities than these Canons?
Thanks in advance,

Mie
