K100D flash failure

after four weeks or a little more than 1000 shots, the built-in flash of my K100D suddenly stopped working. the camera is not responding at all when the flash is up but will respond immediately when i put it down. i thought this is just a K10D issue...never thought this would happen to my K100D.
